Sous Chef

Job Summary: Our restaurant is seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate should have a passion for cooking and be able to work well in a fast-paced environment. The Sous Chef will assist the Head Chef in all aspects of food preparation and presentation, including inventory management, menu planning, staff training, and kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in creating new menu items and updating existing ones.

  • Ensure that all kitchen operations run smoothly and efficiently, and that all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards.

  • Train and supervise kitchen staff, and manage their schedules and duties.

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all food and kitchen supplies, and order new supplies as needed.

  • Ensure that all food is properly stored, prepared, and cooked, and that all kitchen equipment is cleaned and maintained.

  • Manage the kitchen budget and ensure that all costs are kept within budgetary constraints.

  • Collaborate with the front-of-house staff to ensure that all customer needs are met and that the dining experience is of the highest quality.

  • Ensure that all health and safety regulations are followed and that all kitchen staff are properly trained in food handling and safety practices.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role in a high-volume restaurant.

  • Proven experience in all aspects of food preparation, menu planning, and kitchen operations.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.

  • Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to producing high-quality food and presenting it in an attractive manner.

  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • In-depth knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.

  • A degree in culinary arts or a related field is preferred, but not required.

Working Conditions: The Sous Chef will work in a busy kitchen environment, and will be required to work long hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. They will be exposed to high temperatures, sharp knives, and other kitchen equipment, and will need to be able to stand for long periods of time.

Line Cook

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Line Cook to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality food items in a fast-paced environment, while adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines. The Line Cook will work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure that all dishes are prepared and presented in a timely and efficient manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of food items according to recipes, menus, and orders

  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure safe and healthy food preparation

  • Operate kitchen equipment and maintain a clean and organized work area

  • Monitor food inventory and communicate with the head chef to ensure timely ordering of ingredients and supplies

  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure that all orders are prepared and served on time

  • Ensure that all dishes are prepared and presented according to established standards for quality and presentation

  • Maintain accurate records of food production and inventory levels

  • Assist with training new kitchen staff as needed

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role

  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds
